Saturday Studio collaborated with The Sunday Standard to redesign the skincare brand’s packaging, moving from an all-white look to calming, cool-toned boxes with a black foil print. The design blends a minimalist aesthetic with a refreshing tactile twist that fits in perfectly with the brand’s plant-based, science-backed skincare ethos.
“We worked with The Sunday Standard founder, Emma Zwissler, on updated branding and packaging for her plant-based, science-backed skincare line. The goal was to achieve something that felt both fresh and established without feeling overly clinical or cold as the shop transitioned from online-only to a Chicago storefront. We updated the main wordmark and built out a larger system of constructions and marks to be used across packaging and collateral. To help differentiate between products on the shelf we transitioned the original all-white packaging to a range of colorful outer boxes, selecting calm, cool shades that complemented the products and the brand itself. Black foil was printed on lightly textured paper to create a tactile experience when interacting with the boxes ahead of using the formulas inside. A combination of clear and Miron glass bottles and jars were screenprinted with white ink. Smaller vials and pots were printed to be included within two branded product sets—the Sample Set and the Discovery Set. These kits were transitioned from stock fabric pouches to outer box solutions, including a custom slide-out tray developed for the items in the Discovery Set.
