For some hardworking folks, few things are more satisfying than cracking open a cold beer at the end of a grueling day.
Supermarket chain Lidl is buying a six-pack of “Bee-r” for industrious pollinators in the UK to celebrate World Bee Day. The campaign, by PR agency The Romans, doesn’t feature actual beer for bees. Instead of a refreshing, effervescent brew made with yeast, barley, and hops, Lidl’s Bee-r bottles come filled with simple sugar syrup. This food source will attract bees and other fauna responsible for pollinating flowers.
Aside from encouraging pollination and supporting the bee population, the Lidl Bee-r six packs are also cute and adorable. The screwtop bottles stand 2 cm (4/5″ inch for Americans and carpenters) tall, and the tiny labels are blue with a red stripe along the front, a honeycomb pattern, and a honeybee in the center. The six bottles are placed in a cardboard carrier similar to ones used for full-sized beer, featuring a honeycomb pattern against a blue background and the Lidl logo.
