Since 1873, Coors has been brewing beer using crisp Rocky Mountain water in Golden, Colorado. Given its long history, it is no surprise that the Coors brand has a strong legacy built up over the years. For much of its history, since the beer is made without additives or preservatives, it was unavailable east of Texas, making it a commonly smuggled and bootlegged brew; even presidents Eisenhower and Ford would pack a few cases to take home aboard Air Force One when given the opportunity.
Coors is aware of its rich heritage and is again packing its Colorado brew in retro-inspired cans in cases called “The Legacy Collection.”
