Idyll Hound’s Psychedelic Beer Label Captures the Trippiness of Being in the Sun All Day

Anyone who’s ever gotten a sunburn is well-aware that the sun isn’t always friendly. While it’s nice to wake up to a clear, warm day, getting caught on the wrong end of one is another story. In cartoons, it’s the kind of setup that leads to insatiable thirst, excessively dried skin, and vivid visions of oases always just out of reach— or were they ever there?

Floridian designer Carly Berry pays homage to the sun’s dirty tricks with their freaky, psychedelic label for Santa Rosa Beach brewery Idyll Hounds. While the illustration is warm and entrancing, it’s almost too warm, and all the fantastical wildlife seems to have sharp edges to it. Almost burnt yellow lends an otherworldly glow to this mostly green and pink design, and a tripped out flamingo peeks behind the beer’s bubbly, wavy illustrated logomark.
