Just because federal cannabis arrests dropped by 24% in 2022 doesn’t mean people aren’t serving time for weed-related charges—in fact, tens of thousands of folks are still in prison for cannabis.
Rolling paper brand Vibes is eager to let today’s modern smoker know that something is still rotten in Denmark—er, the US.
Partnering with the Last Prisoner Project and design agency Mother, Vibes just launched Release Papers, turning the simple act of rolling a joint into educating the public about those that are still in prison—some for quite a long time, mind you—for non-violent cannabis offenses. Each of the avaialable papers include the names of one of four people still in prison, along with a QR code. From there, people can join letter-writing campaigns and urge President Biden to pardon federal cannabis prisoners by signing the Cannabis Clemency Now petition.
