Adding Suspenders to Patagonia’s accessory line presented the packaging team with a familiar challenge – to create a packaging solution that allows the product to hang in retail, while staying true to our stringent sustainability requirements, namely using material that is 100% recycled with a majority PCR content, sourced from FSC certified mills, and removing the need for any additional plastic attachments. The product itself made this challenge unique, given its shape and size. We also wanted to create a single card that would work on multiple suspenders sizes. Most importantly, we wanted to use a little material as possible.
