Dieline Road Trip USA: Puerto Rico

For our next stop on Dieline’s Road Trip USA, we’re going to a place that is part of the country but ALSO not part of the fifty states of the union. That’s right, our next dispatch takes us to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, which became a part of the US due to the outcome of the Spanish-American War and the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1899.

Today, the Island of Enchantment is home to over three million people. Since 1917, Puerto Ricans have been able to travel to the US mainland freely, and ever since, large communities have settled, particularly along the east coast of America. With them, Boriqueños—nickname for Puerto Ricans—brought their culture, including some of their beloved brands originating on the island.
