For All That Needs To Be Said
Our gifts are beautiful time-travel machines. They take us back to moments and relationships that we cherish. But more often than not, these important moments are implied rather than articulated, where we hope and pray that the one receiving the gift understands the depth of our feelings. What if a gift could provide the words too?
Walking Tree, a Mumbai-based jewelry design studio, created a one-of-a-kind gifting line of jewelry that was inspired from our emotions. We crafted a brand, Unsaid Library, around the jewelry line to turn these gifts into a marker of our life’s milestones.
Inside the packaging, different sections allowed for different aspects of the gift to come alive. We wanted the jewelry to be the final destination, just like a beautiful ending to a book. The jewelry box therefore nestled deep in a niche inside the packaging, layered with a personalization section that would hold the postcards and personal photographs and handwritten letters if one wanted, all sealed with the Unsaid seal.
The most important part of communicating this experience was located in the packaging. We wanted to create an experience rather than just a jewelry box, that helped one articulate what the gift stood for. To do that we imagined these moments as the stories that we want to tell and created the packaging like a book that canonizes the most important chapters of our lives. We created an original series of postcards based on unique emotions for each collection to give the heart its own language.
The result was a packaging made for unboxing that took the receiver on an emotional journey. It revealed the emotions and stories, culminating with the jewelry piece as the shape of the moment they wanted to hold onto forever. Unsaid Library’s packaging is made for all that needs to be said to the ones who matter most to us.
