Lavernia & Cienfuegos Spices Up Minimal Perfume Design with a Variable Lid Concept

The ‘20s have been a hell of a time for niche perfumers, as the sensory deprivation of early COVID inspired a widespread wave of fascination with scent that’s still going strong. A lot of niches can get pretty high-concept, full of wacky notes and wild stories, but most of the time, the innovation is limited to the juice. Most independent perfumers don’t have designer label money, and it sadly takes a lot of that to make the produce the kind of unbridled creative genius behind something like Thierry Mugler’s iconic Angel bottle.

With perfumers wisely directing most of their budgets towards ingredients, it’s hard to imagine the shape of niche perfume will change all that much, but the team at Lavernia & Cienfuegos serves a solid reminder that brands could stand to have at least a little more fun. While their Edit (036) concept revolves around a recognizable bottle shape, funky, variable lids add a fun sense of range to their scent library.
