Hiking and camping are always good for what ails you, and getting back to nature and “touching grass” (as the kids say) is immensely rewarding.
Whatever the reason for partaking in the Great Outdoors, many don’t leave home without coffee to enjoy on the journey.
However, packing gear for a trip is almost always an exercise in compromises, with the most significant considerations being volume and weight. Even a small drip brewer will be bulky for most trekkers to take along. Freeze-dried coffee is very light and compact and can be prepared hot or cold, but it loses many delicate flavors in the process.
