Hey, New York. You Can Now Recycle Your Pizza Boxes In This Handy Recycling Bin

Nothing makes you feel more like an asshole than having a birthday party at the park for your child and then having to pile up all of those Costco pizza boxes on top of a trash can that’s most likely shaped like a circle—it’s the literal embodiment of the square peg meets round hole expression.

New York City’s Central Park Conservancy has launched a pilot program to cut down on the pizza boxes littered throughout the park with a new recycling bin meant solely for those boxes from John’s, Joe’s, Scarr’s, and Di Fara’s. The new recycling bins can hold up to 50 boxes and will be repeatedly emptied throughout the day by park staff. Park-folk are only asked to discard those leftover crusts, greased-up wax papers, and paper plates.

The sole recycling bin will post up near the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which also just so happens to be a beloved picnicking spot amongst the denizens of Manhattan. Should the pilot program prove successful, more bins will make their way throughout Central Park.
