Bath & Body Works Pulls Holiday Candle With Snowflake Resembling KKK Hoods

Christmas and the holidays inspire plenty of retail shenanigans with the sole purpose of draining your bank account. Every year, brands roll out distinctive holiday-themed offerings, and most of the packaging design sticks to tried-and-true tropes. Given the season’s significance, there isn’t a lot of fresh ground to cover, creatively speaking.

Of course, that doesn’t stop brands from experimenting with the Christmas and winter theme. Bath & Body Works’ latest effort did little to invoke the season’s spirit, but it did go a long way toward unsettling the public.

“Snowed In” was a scented candle briefly offered by Bath & Body Works, part of a collection called “Polar Planet Luminary.” The label has a burgundy background dotted with fancy gold accents and a large paper snowflake fanned out on the front. The snowflake looks similar to the ones many of us crafted in school. Unfortunately, given the point shape and small holes on each end, it resembles a series of Klu Klux Klan (KKK) hoods.
