Wine and pizza, baby. The adult version of peanut butter and jelly (and, no, the beverage can’t be beer—that’s wings, kids).
Celebrating this unstoppable duo, designer Abraham Lule created the packaging for a limited-edition release from Beneduce Vineyards and Jersey City pizza restaurant Razza. The wine itself is straight out of New Jersey, a white field blend that’s fermented with some of Razza’s sourdough yeast culture.
The labels are a continuation of Lule’s previous work with the vineyard, a cleverly cute bottle featuring a simple illustration of two hands tossing up a piece of pizza dough into the air. What’s more, the “dough” in question is actually a peelable sticker that drinkers can move up or down the bottle to their heart’s delight. According to Lule, the sticker was also added by Razza’s employees, “the same that hand-picked the grapes for [the] wine.”
And, for those materials and suppliers fans out there, the label utilizes Avery Deninnson’s Grape Touch paper, a wood-free paper consisting of 15% grape waste and 85% FSC-certified pulp. Further, the neck seal is a tip of the cap to pizza sauce, a vibrant red addition that reads “best enjoyed with pizza” because duh.
