The Torta and the Banh Mi Got Together and Had Kids at Mexico City’s Saigoncito

Published

A fusion of the torta and the banh mi seems like second nature considering their mutual love of cilantro, jalapenos, and bright red hot sauce. This genius concept comes to life at Mexico City’s Saigoncito, an unmissable bright orange food stall that’s kind of like if two of the world’s best cultures for sandwiches got together and had kids. This kind of idea is palpable in the charming identity by Futura, full of childlike, Nancy-esque characters carrying, hugging, and plopping down to feast on comically oversized sandwiches. While bold typography keeps the rest of the system simple, Saigoncito adds some Vietnamese flavor to their logomark with light serif detail and a little extra weight.
