I write about it yearly, but I’m a pumpkin spice hater.
I know I fit the bill for a cliche girl who loves it, but there’s something about the sickeningly sweet aftertaste and artificial flavoring that I just can’t do. And as August comes to an end and we slip into fall, we all know that pumpkin spice flavors will be engulfing us soon.
For now, I’m pausing and looking backward. Let’s appreciate the best of August and enjoy the absence of pumpkin while we can. From thinking about how to brand lab-grown meat and Mario Lopez butt wipes to Beyoncé’s whisky and theatrical ice cream, there was no lack of interesting packaging this past month.
