Seed to Surf: A premium plant-based seafood company. At the heart of this packaging design is to showcase and celebrate the unexpected juxtaposition of seafood reimagined with vegetables. Seed to Surf creates flavorful seafood inspired products that mimic the experience of tinned fish, but is made from whole vegetables. The approach was to pull from the tinned fish market, but create illustrations with a twist that capture our imaginations. The illustrations feel classic, but on closer inspection, they convey the vegetable used for each flavour profile and the seafood it emulates. The crest punctuates the company’s vision, to create products from ‘seed to surf’. Being a relatively new product category in the market the packaging needed to feel both familiar and captivating, piquing a sense of curiosity, to encourage customers to give it a try. The packaging continues to delight with rich detail in the typesetting, crests, finishes and surprise pops of colour. Everything about the experience needed to feel thoughtful, premium, imaginative and special – which reflects the delicious and unique product to be discovered inside.
