The Burdekin area in North Queensland is one of Australia’s premier sugar-cane growing regions and was one of the pioneering regions for the sugar-cane industry.
This proximity to freshly grown cane and pure water led to the opportunity to develop a craft rum distillery using Burdekin cane from local growers with the client’s own Mt Elliot water, and provide consumers with two rums that celebrated its special provenance: a Virgin Cane Spirit, and a Vintage Cane Spirit.
