Cargo ships continue to queue up offshore for weeks while they wait to get unloaded. Prices for some items, such as pork, have sharply risen as COVID-related closures, and the staffing challenges have forced production facilities to close.

Cannabis confectionary brand Kiva faced its own supply chain problem when its holiday tins were stuck in the morass of backed-up Southern Californian seaports. Even though the flavor is a Christmas punch, Kiva decided to go ahead with the release, despite the holidays coming and going. After all, if it tastes good, why not?
