Design careers aren’t always linear.
There are often frequent twists and turns, starting from a place that is sometimes drastically different from design. In Timia Lewis’s case, that rings true, as graphic design wasn’t a predetermined career path for the multidisciplinary branding and identity specialist. Initially, she pursued a teaching degree, so being a “creative” was something she had never given any real serious thought to.
“The school I went to from first to twelfth grade didn’t have any art classes, so graphic design wasn’t really on my radar,” Lewis shares.
