Take A Baja Blast Through the Past With Taco Bell’s New Decades Menu Promotion

QSR chain Taco Bell opened its doors in 1962, and since then, its menu has constantly evolved and changed, building on the concept of Mexican-inspired fast food with new takes on classics like tacos, burritos, and nachos.

Unsurprisingly, there will always be fans of dropped menu items (please bring back the 7-Layer Burrito!). This fall, Taco Bell is going through its back catalog and bringing back items from its past in a campaign called the “Decades Menu.”

Taco Bell’s original Tostada represents the 1960s. The brand is also bringing back its Green Sauce Burrito from the 1970s and fans who have been clamoring for a Meximelt comeback—an item introduced in the 1980s—can now rejoice. The Gordita Supreme from the nineties also returns, though the spokesdog from that era will probably remain at that farm upstate Taco Bell sent him to. Finally, another oft-requested item, the Caramel Apple Empanada, first sold in the aughts, is back for a limited time.
