While alcohol design is obviously better than it’s ever been, sometimes there can be a sense of fatigue about the label doing the vast majority of the creative legwork. Why not have more fun with the bottle?

Budweiser did exactly that for Supreme Purple Rice Pure Draft in China, a not only visually striking but smart, thoughtful design. It’s not just ridged— it has 24 ridges to align with the Chinese solar year. The beer name is carved into the bottle with Chinese characters and cool wheat glyphs— proof that it doesn’t need a label to be the slickest, most memorable Budweiser bottle we’ve ever seen.

Budweiser Supreme Purple Rice Pure Draft is Budweiser’s new high-end beer product in the Chinese market. Centered around a modern Chinese design concept, the bottle is carved with 24 edges, symbolizing the twenty-four solar terms in traditional culture. This packaging adopts a label-free design, retaining only the neck label, which innovatively enhances recognition and uses the unique bottle shape as the strongest visual identifier. The bottle adopts the golden color of beer, while the neck label uses purplish-brown and off-white, symbolizing the natural feel of the Orient and creating a high-end brand texture.
